At Bear Path Martial Arts the main goal of our Kids programs is PRACTICAL self-defense and self discovery. Through rigorous training children gain self-confidence, discipline and motivation. Not only do they learn to set goals, but they learn to reach them as well!
At the end of every class the students may have an opportunity to spar. This helps them understand what it is like to have an attacker try to hit them, and what it takes to defend themselves. Protective equipment is always worn and always conducted under qualified supervision.
Our Youth motto: Anything is possible to a willing mind, anything is possible with enough time and practice.
Have you ever wondered why parents love Martial Arts training for their kids?
Maybe it's because it builds their self-esteem and confidence.
Maybe it's because it teaches kids to respect themselves and others.
Maybe it's because it teaches them to work toward goals.
Maybe it's because it teaches them to have self control.
Maybe it's because it teaches them personal safety.
Class Principals:
§ The attention span of children is considerably shorter than that of the average adult, so the class must be broken up from time to time with game-like drills that relate to martial art concepts.
§ Children think visually rather than verbally, so teaching examples must be developed differently than that of the adult student.
